GLADYS MITCHELL STORY INCLUDED IN A GREAT NEW COLLECTION OF GOLDEN AGE MYSTERIES
SERPENTS IN EDEN - Edited by Martin Edwards

Published by Poisoned Pen Press March 2016.

The British Library Crime Classics series has lately been reprinting some fantastic Golden Age mysteries for a new generation of readers, much to my delight. Hard-to-find novels from classic writers like Freeman Wills Crofts and Miles Burton (John Rhode) are available again, and anthologies like Serpents in Eden -- where editor Martin Edwards has curated wonderful short stories involving countryside crime -- are extremely entertaining. Featuring lesser-known works from famous authors like Arthur Conan Doyle, Anthony Berkeley Cox, Margery Allingham, and H.C. Bailey, Serpents also includes "Our Pageant," a Gladys Mitchell story originally published in the London Evening Standard. Available in print and eBook editions. You can find my full review on my website www.jasonhalf.com .

Published by Dean Street Press December 2015.

Dean Street Press (U.K.) has announced five more titles in E.R. Punshon's great Bobby Owen detective series, available in eBook and printed editions December 2015. The company has already released the first ten books featuring the motorcycle-riding Bobby Owen, and adds titles 11 through 15 now. This is of particular interest to me, as I am a fan of E.R. Punshon's mysteries and these extremely rare titles from the 1930s and 1940s are finally becoming available again!

Dozens of Gladys Mitchell titles now available in EBOOK (Kindle) format for US readers through Amazon.com! Includes Malcolm Torrie titles!
Published by Amazon.com May 2014.

Huge news for US fans of the Mrs. Bradley mysteries: Amazon.com, in association with publishers Thomas & Mercer, are offering over forty Gladys Mitchell mysteries in eBook format for the Kindle e-reader. In addition, five of the six titles Mitchell wrote in the late 1960s and early 1970s under the name Malcolm Torrie are also available for the first time since their initial printing!

Even though you and I love the experience of reading words on the printed page, the digital format is exciting to me for two reasons: it allows a new generation of readers to discover works by an author whose titles have become difficult to find, and digitizing the text helps ensure Gladys Mitchell's writing will be accessible and available in future years. Thank you, Amazon.com and Vintage UK, for offering these great Golden Age mysteries in eBook format!
